L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Detox Mask

For weeks now, bloggers have been #MultiMasking with the new L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Masks and I must admit, I felt pretty intrigued! I've been having major skin issues recently, so when I saw these on offer for £5 in Boots I couldn't pass up the chance to try one. I opted for the Detox mask because a) I've never tried a grey/black mask and they look cool... and b) it seemed the most appropriate for my skin type and current issues!

L'Oreal claims that the Detox mask "detoxifies the skin's surface by cleansing deep into the pores, leaving the skin looking clarified and beautified without drying it out" and that's a pretty accurate description from my experience! This mask leaves my skin feeling tight and thoroughly cleansed, without feeling dry or stripped in the slightest. I've been majorly struggling with an almost acne-like breakout for the past few weeks and when I use this mask it feels as though any impurities, dirt and 'spot-ness' is brought to the surface of the skin. The first couple of times I used the mask, my skin admittedly looked worse but felt better afterwards. More spots appeared over the next couple of days, but they cleared up quicker then before. I started using this mask a few times a week (possibly a little extreme, but I loved the results I was getting!) and have been using it once or twice a week since while I'm still fighting off the breakout.

I'm absolutely in love with this mask and would highly recommend it to anyone struggling with spots, clogged pores or dull skin. If you struggle with sensitive skin, this might be a little too strong or stingy for you, but I've experienced stinging cheeks with some masks in the past and this doesn't do that at all. I've also got to give a quick shoutout to the brush I've been using to apply this mask - a £2 foundation brush from Primark. I've found this to be the most neat and hygienic way to apply the mask so I'd definitely recommend picking one up when you're next out shopping for socks (because, where else do people buy them from?!).

Have you tried any of the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Masks yet? There's the Purity mask (the green one), but I'll probably avoid that one as I'm not a fan of anything mattifying. There's also the red Glow mask, which has a beaded texture and claims to illuminate the skin, so I'll probably pick this up when I'm next in Boots, especially as all three are still only £5!
